The Population Council

Population Services International
PSI implements behavior change communication programs in 70 developing countries in the areas of HIV/AIDS, safe water, malaria, nutrition, tuberculosis and family planning.
President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief
PEPFAR is a $15 billion, five-year program that directs funding for HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria to 15 focus countries. UNAIDS
UNAIDS is the main advocate for global action on the epidemic. It leads, strengthens and supports an expanded response aimed at preventing transmission of HIV, providing care and support, reducing the vulnerability of individuals and communities to HIV/AIDS, and alleviating the impact of the pandemic. UNAIDS brings together the efforts and resources of 10 U.N. system organizations to address the HIV/AIDS epidemic. UNICEF
UNICEF works closely with young people on preventing new HIV infections by encouraging young people to make healthy and informed choices. UNICEF also works to prevent parent-to-child transmission of HIV and helps communities provide care, protection and support to children orphaned and made vulnerable by the disease.
UNIFEM Gender and HIV/AIDS Portal
UNIFEM, in collaboration with UNAIDS, has developed this comprehensive gender and HIV/AIDS Web portal to provide up-to-date information on the gender dimensions of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The site aims to promote understanding, knowledge sharing and action on HIV/AIDS as a gender and human rights issue.
United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)
UNFPA works to promote safer sexual behavior among young people by integrating HIV prevention into reproductive health programming worldwide.
U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) - HIV/AIDS
USAID is a leading agency in the U.S. government's response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. USAID has funded over $3.2 billion since inception of its international HIV/AIDS program in 1986 and currently has HIV/AIDS programs in nearly 100 countries worldwide.

The HIV/AIDS Bureau administers the Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency (CARE) Act, which helps to provide services for people living with HIV/AIDS in the United States.
